Who We Are and What We Value Urban Indigenous was founded by Perth local Rebecca Casey in 2009. With Urban Indigenous Rebecca intended to raise the profile of Aboriginal Australia and to accelerate Reconciliation Australia by way of a hip, urban Aboriginal trip. From this original concept grew a more expansive business model that not only provides engaging Aboriginal tours, but also offers a wide range of Aboriginal experiences from Education programs, Corporate Content, Bush Camps, Extended Itineraries and more. These opportunities draw on the talent of local Aboriginal people and businesses and in turn has developed a highly regarded, award winning business model that is an Australian first. Urban Indigenous is run by a passionate team of dedicated professionals who are committed to presenting diverse and interactive authentic Aboriginal experiences. Our mob bring to Urban Indigenous Australia a wealth of experience, expertise, and a commitment to Aboriginal affairs and Closing the Gap strategies.
Operations Manager  |  Ron Bradfield Ron Bradfield Jnr is a Bardi fella who grew up away from his country - on the coast - on Yamatji lands near Geraldton. Ron now calls Whadjuk country his home, and as General Manager of Urban Indigenous he generously shares his collection of stories, his learnings and knowledge, and his whole wardrobe of colourful shirts. Ron has a solid work history, from serving in the Australian Navy for two decades, through to being the indigenous development manager for Artsource (the State’s peak artists’ body).  Ron is also a founding member of Ochre Contemporary Dance Company, and he works closely with Magabala Books and Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company. Ron believes that art itself is a “yarn” and that the visual artists he works with have some of the most amazing stories he has ever heard. Ron himself spins an amazing yarn, and loves to share with people of all ages and backgrounds the amazing uniqueness of one of the longest continuing cultures in the world - the original inhabitants of Australia.   “All these modern ways of sharing stories through the arts offer wider Australians the opportunity to start a conversation that allows them to find a place to feel connected,” Ron says. Invite Ron Bradfield to share a yarn at your school, corporate meeting or function, or as an entertaining unique Keynote Speaker at your next event. Ron welcomes all enquiries.
